Fans of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” will gather along with writers, musicians, and fellow fans in the suburbs of Chicago this weekend.
“My Little Pony,” a franchise targeted traditionally at young girls, has gained a huge following with adults—male and female—who call themselves Bronies.
This stems from the latest incarnation of the show, "Friendship is Magic," created by Lauren Faust and sometimes refered to as "G4" by fans.
Over the past year, the show has spawned several conventions and meetups, from the massive "BronyCon" in New York City earlier this year to the smaller “Brony Fan Fair” in Austin, Texas.
The latest convention is called “Midwestria,” a play on the fictional world of “Equestria” where the show is set.
The convention promises to bring fans together with writers of the show such as Amy Keating Rogers and Charlotte Fullerton, along with numerous fan artists from the shows exploding internet community.
The event takes place from September 14th through the 16th in Saint Charles, a suburb of Chicago.
