Huntsville Raising Money to Help with Power Bills

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Huntsville is raising money to help the poor pay their power bills.

Mayor Tommy Battle has proclaimed Sunday as "Project Share Sunday" as part of the effort.

AL.com reports that the partnership between Huntsville Utilities and the Salvation Army allows customers to donate money to help low-income families and individuals pay their power bills.

The program has raised more than $3 million since it began.
