A hit-and-run victim says it's a blessing that he's still alive.

He's now hoping surveillance video will lead police to the driver who hit him.

"I know God have my back, that's all I know. God was looking out for me."

Shaun Lewis said he feels blessed to be alive after he was hit by a car on his way to work.

And surveillance video captured it all in the video, you see Lewis running across Tuckaseegee road. Then headlights. Lewis turns around and a car hits him, knocking him onto the windshield and throwing him into the air.

The driver stops and gets out; seconds later he gets back in and drives off.

After about six minutes, you see Lewis walk away.

He told us he doesn't remember getting hit.

"I remember waking up; I was bleeding. My hand was all messed up. My leg was messed up...He could've helped me out some way. He didn't have to leave."

The footage was captured around 4 a.m. Saturday, thanks to security cameras set up here outside Dale Lynn’s Pawn Shop.

"I came in and I saw this horrific video. I thought, 'This guy can't be alive.'"

Lynn hopes the video helps police find out who was in the car.

And of course so does Lewis, who now walks with a cane and is temporarily out of work thanks to that driver.

"I don't want to see him locked up, but I want him to pay for leaving the scene. He shouldn't have left like that."
