Not your grandmother's Cadillac anymore... GM's luxury car brand is going electric.
The Detroit automaker announced plans today for the Cadillac E-L-R next year.

Modeled after the Chevy Volt, the E-L-R will have both an electric motor powered by battery and a gasoline engine.
But G-M says the E-L-R won't look like the Volt, however.
The car maker says the prototype calls for a two-door coupe, instead of a four-door sedan.
The volt is pretty expensive, retailing for about 40-thousand-dollars.
The pricing for the first electric Cadillac isn't out yet.
