Snow continued to fall in several parts of France on Thursday, however a return to normal conditions is forecast.
Four regional districts remain on orange alert - Drome, Isere, Loire and Haute-Loire.
The Loire region received up to 40 centimetres of snowfall.
About 6500 households suffered electrical cuts on Wednesday in the south of Isere, however the majority had electricity restored during the evening.

A snow alert has been issued in 16 cities in Spain where local authorities have been forced to close some roads.
Winter sports resorts, including one in Sierra Nevada, Granada have benefited from the wintry weather.
