A Portland woman hides inside of a suitcase as her boyfriend smuggles her into and out of his apartment.
Kyle Iboshi reports the smuggling apparently happened on a regular basis.
At the 333 Oak apartments, residents come and go, but one tenant seemed to stand out because of his big pink suitcase.
"We had made comments why he would bring it in and out every time he left."
Neighbors had their suspicions, and this week, someone called police.
Sure enough, officers discovered a woman had been hiding in the suitcase.
"He's like, 'Hey, bro. There's a ******* chick in there.' I said, 'no,' 'Oh, yah!' And there was."
Kola McGrath says she tucked inside this suitcase to secretly visit her boyfriend.
"Because I love him."
About a year ago, kola got into some trouble at her boyfriend's apartment building, and managers repeatedly warned her to stay away.
McGrath says her boyfriend couldn't come to her place, because she's living in a shelter, so the couple hatched a plan.
She'd hide in a large pink rolling suitcase.
"Just the fetal position with no shoes, no coat."
Kola admits, it was dark and bumpy.
She was smuggled inside the building several times.
"It's not what you'd think, though. You put your head under a pillow or a blanket, and it is just like that."
Police arrested kola for trespassing, because she'd been warned to stay away from the building.
"I'll do it all over again -- or would, but they are already on to me now."
Kola says, she's anxious to visit her boyfriend, but getting into his fifth story apartment won't be so easy, now that everyone knows about the suitcase.
"I can't think of any other way to do it, now. Bungee jump?"
Kola's boyfriend was not charged. He declined to comment.
