Venus in Rare Solar Transit Today

There's something going on in space right now that no one alive today will ever be able to see again.

Venus will be in transit today meaning it will cross the face of the sun, as viewed from earth.

NASA says transits like this are very rare they happen in pairs about once every century.

The last Venus transit was in 2004, and after today, it won't occur again until 2117!

This celestial event begins just after 6:00 PM Eastern time and continues for seven hours, so folks on the West Coast have the best chance of seeing it.

As always, you should never stare directly at the sun to see this!
