Drivers on Interstate 66 in northern Virginia are facing an extra challenge.
Over a messy Monday morning on 66, the lane striping at 29 and Centreville: wiggly, broken and curving causing some slowdowns. Confusing to say the least.
Hours later, no change, brake lights ahead as we drove over the lines. The Virginia Department of Transportation says it was all a temporary tape striping mishap. The tape was put down over the weekend for a bridge repair project here, but then it started peeling up.
VDOT is trying to get the mishap fixed as quickly as possible. The contractor expected out here to turn those wiggly lines back into straight ones. Highway crews plan to fix the lines during overnight hours, starting tonight.
