Tuesday afternoon strong storms blew up just east of downtown Denver and although Denver didn’t see much more than clouds, a tornado touched down at Denver International Airport.
No injuries or damage for the storms, but the terminal was evacuated, some roads to the airport were shut down, and a few flights we kept in a holding pattern or were diverted.
All afternoon and early evening a strong line of storms continued moving east with tornado or severe thunderstorm warnings popping up as their eastern trek continued. Lightning, hail, heavy rains and strong winds were also reported.
