Tenn. Police Arrest Man Wanted for Florida Murder

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police in East Tennessee arrested a fugitive wanted for the murder of a man in Florida who had been missing since December.

Campbell County deputies told WATE-TV in Knoxville that 64-year-old James Carlton was taken into custody early Saturday morning.

According to a sheriff's department press release, Carlton is accused of murder in the death of 41-year-old Michael Wayne Nichols, of Ocala, Fla., whose body was found this month.

Carlton is being held in the Campbell County Jail and will soon be transferred to Florida.
