Spring is in the air and that may have some people thinking about travel plans for the summer...

Millions of Americans are picking their are the spots that are most popular this year.

Triple-A says Orlando, Florida and Honolulu, Hawaii are two hot spots.

Disney world and beautiful beaches are the big attractions.

Disney Land in Anaheim, California puts that city on the list.

As for overseas destinations, Rome and London are drawing crowds.

Whether you're headed to the beach, a big city -- or camping in the woods... Here are some ways to save.

First -- if you're flying -- don't book more than three months in advance.

Rick Seaney from fare-compare-dot-com tracks airfare prices and says you may not get the best deal that far out.

You can start looking about three months ahead but wait up until six weeks before the flight as you check prices.

Also -- look to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

You're most likely to find the cheapest flights on those days.

If you're hitting the road -- use your smartphone to help you find the cheapest gas prices.

There are a variety of apps out there that will use your phone's location to find stations with the lowest price per gallon.

Gas buddy and triple-A's "trip-tick" are two of the most popular.
