ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Officials say several students sustained minor injuries when a car crashed into a school bus in
Police say 36 students from St. Petersburg High School were on
the bus Monday afternoon.
The collision caused the car to flip over.
The bus to end up in a residential yard, just inches from a house.
Officials say the woman driving the bus was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Seven students were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Police say the car's driver, 29-year-old Stacy C Neal, fled the scene but was caught several blocks away.
He was charged with fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, resisting arrest, cocaine possession and marijuana possession.
He was being held on $17,300 bail.
