Star Trek Fans Boldly Go To Las Vegas For Record-Breaking Fan Convention


The official Star Trek Vegas 2013 Convention wrapped up Sunday in the Nevada city, after thousands of fans attended the celebration of the iconic science fiction franchise.

The official Star Trek Vegas 2013 Convention wrapped up Sunday in the Nevada city, after thousands of fans attended the celebration of the iconic science fiction franchise.

Fans who attended the convention had the opportunity to meet numerous actors and actresses from the series and its movies, from Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine, Voyager) to Jonathan Frakes (Commander Will Riker, The Next Generation) and even the entire cast of Deep Space Nine.

A costume event even took place, breaking the Guinness Book of World Records record for most Star Trek costumes in one room, with 1085 Trek fans dressed as numerous characters from the franchise.

Star Trek has been an enduring science fiction legacy since its launch on NBC in 1966. It has had several television spin-offs from The Next Generation to Enterprise, and a dozen feature films as well as numerous novels and comic books.

The franchise is known for its dramatic storytelling, state-of-the-art special effects, optimistic portrayal of humanity and its future, thought-provoking allegory, unique presentations of technology and much more.
