While Denver dealt with slushy streets and snow on tender buds, the Colorado high country fought a winterlike battle with road closures, fender-benders and heavy tree damage Sunday.
The worst is yet to come for the central Front Range cities after the sun goes down until noon Monday, with accumulations that could reach as high as 10 inches in some places, according to the National Weather Service.
Most areas will get at least 4 inches from the storm. The biggest accumulations are expected in southern areas of the metro area.
