Before they met with the president and first lady, athletes from the Olympic and Paralympic games in Sochi, Russia spoke to the press at the White House Thursday (4/3).

Stephanie Jallen a paralympic skier and bronze medalist in the games said she was a littler nervous to meet President Obama.
"I think we all have sweaty palms now getting ready to meet the president," Jallen said.

Women's Ice Hockey player and silver medalist Julie Chu said she it was special to be at the White House, but she was also in awe of her fellow athletes.

"I just love being here and I'm going to soak up this moment. We're taking so many pictures and it's a pretty special moment. And to be here with these guys -- I'm star struck."

Sage Kotsenberg, gold medalist in Slopestyle Snowboarding described his tour of the White House.

"Just being in there is crazy and seeing all the sculptures and things from previous years dating back you know long before any of us were here. So it's pretty cool in there," Kotsenberg said.
