UNDATED (AP) - Is President Barack Obama willing to risk Slurpee
brainfreeze as he grapples with political gridlock?
The president's campaign-trail attack on Republicans as Slurpee-sipping do-nothings boomeranged on him the day after the GOP won the House majority in last week's elections. Next week's White House meeting with Congressional leaders has been dubbed the "Slurpee Summit."
The joke has 7-Eleven giddily taking advantage of the golden marketing opportunity with a "Slurpee Unity Tour" zigzagging
across the country to Washington - complete with Slurpee trailers
dispensing red, white and blue Slurpees.
The company has also offered to cater the summit and install Slurpee machines in the White House and on Capital Hill, although
it hasn't heard back.
