Rhee, Brogan on Fla. education transition team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Governor-elect Rick Scott's education
transition team includes former Washington, D.C., Chancellor
Michelle Rhee, known for reform efforts that featured layoffs,
school closings and battles with teachers unions.

The incoming Republican governor announced the 18-member team
Thursday.

Also included are State University System Chancellor Frank
Brogan, a former lieutenant governor; John Kirtley, chairman of the
school voucher group Step Up for Students, and Patricia Levesque,
director of former Gov. Jeb Bush's education foundation.

Among others are University of South Florida President Judy
Genshaft, Broward College President and former Community Colleges Chancellor David Armstrong, and Hillsborough County School Superintendent MaryEllen Elia.
