Twitter is stepping up efforts to guard your privacy.
You'll soon be able to stop the social media giant from collecting information about you.
Twitter is adopting the "do not track" feature of Mozilla's Firefox browser.
A federal trade commission official made the announcement this week.
The feature prevents websites from using cookies to track your personal information and on-line movements.
To opt into the service on twitter, you must select the "do not track" feature within the Firefox browser.
Other top web browsers, including apple's safari and Microsoft's internet explorer, have similar features.
