President Obama's approval rating is on the rise.
According to a new CNN/ORC international poll, 49 percent of Americans approve of the job the president is doing in the White House. That's up five points from last month.
It's his highest approval rating since May when his number hit 54 percent following the death of Osama bin Laden.
Analysts say the partisan battle over extending the payroll tax may be partially to blame for the jump in the president's numbers.
