VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Engineers blame a short in a power line for an accident that left people in Valdosta unable to drink the city's water.
WALB-TV reported Monday that an underground power line shorted out, causing the system to overload and motors to fail.
Officials said water used for drinking, food preparation and teeth brushing should be boiled for at least one minute.
City authorities said they hope the water system will be working normally by Wednesday.
