MIAMI (AP) - A Palestinian man has pleaded guilty in Miami to
federal charges of conspiring to obtain stolen military weapons and transport explosives to the Middle East.

Abdalaziz Aziz Hamayel, of the West Bank, faces up to five years
in prison after pleading guilty Thursday. Sentencing is set for
Feb. 22.

Hamayel's alleged accomplice is scheduled to stand trial in
January.

Federal prosecutors say the pair sought to obtain 300
automatic weapons including AK-47 and M-16 assault rifles.

Court documents say the pair also wanted to obtain silencers, grenades and explosives detonators.

An undercover federal agent posed as a weapons broker to make the U.S. case. No weapons were ever supplied.
