Obama to Sign Executive Order for African American Education

President Obama is announcing a new education initiative aimed at African Americans Wednesday.

He's expected to detail the plan in remarks he's making at the National Urban League conference in New Orleans tonight.

The White House says the president will sign an executive order Thursday.

The order will help federal agencies work with communities.

The goal is to insure blacks students receive an education that fully prepares them for college and productive careers.
