Six months out and the race for President is in a dead heat.
A new poll by Politico/George Washington University shows GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney with a one-point advantage over President Barack Obama.
That's within the poll's 3.1 sampling error.
The poll also gives Romney a 10-point advantage among independents.
This month's numbers mark a notable change since the survey was conducted in February, when Romney was still battling for GOP nomination.
At that time, the president held a nine-percentage point advantage over Romney overall.
