Newt Gingrich Officially Exits Presidential Race

Newt Gingrich ended his run for the White House with an announcement in his adopted home state of Virginia.

With his wife Callista by his side, Gingrich thanked his supporters for sticking with him, when many had counted him out

Gingrich won the South Carolina and Georgia primaries , but his campaign soon fell flat.

The former house speaker could not keep up in the polls and struggled to raise money.

The 68 year-old Gingrich did not rule out a run for the White House in 2016, but said given his age, it’s not likely.
