WASHINGTON (AP) -- NPR is naming a Latina marketing executive as its next chief marking officer and is hiring a PBS vice president to lead strategic planning.
The Washington-based public broadcaster announced Thursday that Emma Carrasco, a communications executive with Miami-based Republica, would become its chief of marketing in December. She previously held top posts with Univision and McDonald's Corp., leading outreach to Hispanics and African Americans.
Loren Mayor of PBS was named vice president of strategy.
NPR President Gary Knell has reshaped the executive ranks since he started 10 months ago after leading Sesame Workshop, the company behind TV's "Sesame Street."
In October, NPR named a new top news executive. Madhulika Sikka, the executive producer of "Morning Edition," was named NPR's executive editor beginning in January. She joined NPR from ABC's "Nightline."
