Miss Molly the Trolley in Macon Destroyed by Fire

MACON, Ga. (AP) - Officials say that Macon's well-known trolley - known around town as Miss Molly - was destroyed by fire after dropping off passengers at Mercer University.

Fire officials say the trolley caught fire early Friday morning.

The driver noticed the fire near the trolley's engine compartment
shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Capt. Nathaniel Hall of the Macon-Bibb Fire Department says the
trolley was totaled. He said the entire back portion of the trolley burned, and its windows burst.

There were no reports of any injuries in Friday's fire.
