Transportation officials are warning drivers about slick roads across parts of Iowa that were hit by an unusual spring snowstorm.
The state Department of Transportation says crews are clearing slush and snow from southwest, central and north central portions of the state. There are road blockages on highways near Dana in central Iowa and Clarksville in northeast Iowa due to accidents.
The National Weather Service says Forest City and Britt in northern Iowa recorded 11 inches of snow between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, breaking several state records for snowfall in May.
Weather officials expect the storm system to continue into eastern Iowa, though the snow is expected to turn into rain.
