Man Gets 15 Years for Fatal Homeless Beating

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - One of two homeless men charged in the murder of another homeless man last year in South Florida pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Jimmy Graviett accepted the plea deal Monday. Robert Gallant, his co-defendant, didn't accept a similar offer. No trial date has been set for him.

Police say the suspects had an argument with Bradley Schmidt
over money. The suspects are accused of hitting Schmidt several
times in the head, back and groin. Schmidt died from his injuries.

The Broward County Medical Examiner's Office originally ruled his death an accident but then declared it a homicide.
