ATLANTA (AP) - A man accused of gunning down a convenience store clerk in the West End of Atlanta has been sentenced to life in
Yusef Cantrell pleaded guilty Tuesday to the killing of 24-year-old Harish Roy.
He was charged with murder, felony murder and weapons offenses in the March 2009 slaying at the Stop N Shop convenience store.
The attempted robbery was captured on surveillance video.
The sentence was part of a plea agreement that spared Cantrell the death penalty.
He also received a 20-year prison sentence for stabbing a detention officer in the Fulton County Jail while awaiting trial.
