Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Smuggling in Easter Eggs

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Federal authorities say a Miami man has
pleaded guilty to smuggling cocaine concealed inside phony Easter
eggs.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Virginia Kice says Esteban Galtes entered the plea Monday in federal court in Los Angeles.

Galtes was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in December after officers searched his luggage and found 10 pounds of cocaine, much of it camouflaged as egg-shaped candies that he
claimed were for his children.

A message was left for Galtes' attorney Lisa Shinar.

Galtes is set to be sentenced on May 5. Court papers show he could face up to 40 years in prison.
