TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say the man who shot two pit bulls in Tampa has not been charged in the shooting.
A sheriff's office report says a woman was confronted by three dogs Saturday morning as she was jogging when a man came out of his house with a handgun. The report says the man confronted the pit bulls, which took off running.
The woman told police she heard shots fired and saw the dogs run from between two houses. Two of the dogs were injured and taken to an animal hospital, where one of them had to be put down.
No one was injured in the shooting and no arrests have been made. The investigation continues. A sheriff's office statement says deputies will be consulting with the State Attorney's Office.
