A Mishawaka woman is being called a hero after she helped rescue another woman who fell into the frigid St. Joseph River.
It happened about 9:30 last night in St. Joseph.
44-year-old Bonnie Miller from Benton Harbor was walking with her husband and son on the south pier...texting...when she fell into the cold, fast-moving river side of the pier.
But a 19-year-old woman from Mishawaka happened to be right there with friends.
"I didn't even think about it I just saw her was running and jumped in"
...and jumped in."
Miller didn't have to go to the hospital.
Her husband says she's shaken up but back and work today.
