Lindsay Lohan Takes New Film Role

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lindsay Lohan has secured her next movie role.

Producer Braxton Pope says Lohan will star in "The Canyons," a film written by "Less Than Zero" author Bret Easton Ellis about sex and ambition among 20-somethings in Los Angeles.

Paul Schrader, who wrote "Taxi Driver" and directed "American Gigolo," is set to direct the film.

The new role comes amid Lohan's ongoing legal issues, a recent car crash and run-in with paramedics.

Her publicist, Steve Honig, says the 26-year-old actress has been on set since last week.

Lohan recently completed work on the Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick," in which she played Elizabeth Taylor.

This woman needs someone to set her down and say, You're grown now start acting like a responsible adult and stop getting into so much trouble. People running around getting her out of the trouble she gets into is whats wrong with her. When your child gets into trouble the first time you get them out, if you can. Then tell them I'm not coming to the rescue if you get yourself into trouble again. Then if they do get into trouble again, Don't Get Them Out !! They have to learn you are not going to be around always.Money solves a lot of things but it don't solve everything. She's made a movie and probably was paid real good, money to make bond with for her next fiasco. Maybe she'll get a judge that will sentence her to some real time, like all of us get when we can't follow the law.
