The United States Capitol was plunged into darkness Wednesday night.
Lots of people took to Twitter when the dome's exterior lights went out, commenting on the odd sight.
A tweet on the US Capitol Twitter account read, "[we're] aware of the power outage on the capitol exterior and [are] working to address the problem."
A few minutes later, the lights slowly came back on.
There's no word on what caused the lights to go out, but there was a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the area until 10pm.
