Last F-22 Raptor fighter jet arrives in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- The military says the last F-22 Raptor fighter jet produced for the U.S. Air Force has arrived at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
The Air Force says in a statement that Lt. Col. Paul Moga flew the jet non-stop from Marietta, Ga., on Saturday. He was greeted at the Anchorage base by dozens of military members, family and friends.
The jet rolled off the assembly line at a Lockheed Martin Corp. plant in Marietta in December. The plant built about 190 F-22s for the Air Force.
The Raptor did not have a role in the fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan, but it has been deployed to Japan and Guam to enhance security in the Pacific.
Moga says the jet handled superbly during the eight hour flight, which included two midair refuels.
