Should blind people be granted gun permits?
That's the question many are asking after the Des Moines register reported Sunday that Iowa issues permits to carry firearms in public to the vision impaired.
A spokeswoman for a group called 'Disability Rights Iowa' told the newspaper that denying the blind gun permits would violate the Americans with disabilities act.
Each state has different rules for issuing gun permits.
Some states, such as Nebraska and South Carolina, require applicants to show "proof of vision."
