House to Consider ObamaCare Repeal

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. House of Representatives will consider a repeal of President Obama’s costly and burdensome health care law, the Affordable Care Act, today.

U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-AL) said the President’s health care law is so flawed, merely amending it isn’t enough.

“As I have traveled throughout Alabama’s Second Congressional District the last three years, one common and consistent frustration I hear is about ObamaCare. From the small business owner who has stopped new hires to the working mom who has already seen her premiums rise, this ill-prescribed law threatens to make life worse for so many Americans,” Roby said. “This week the House will vote to repeal ObamaCare in its entirety. It’s time we end this costly, burdensome, overreaching law once and for all.”

This is the third time the House has taken up a full repeal of the President’s health care law since Republicans assumed the majority in 2011, and there is more momentum toward repeal than ever. Seven House-passed bills repealing or amending parts of ObamaCare have already been signed into law by the President. And, recently, leading Democrats who helped write the law have made their concerns known, going so far as to call the law “a trainwreck.”

The House will begin debate of the bill, sponsored by Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), today with the final vote expected this afternoon.
