A giant rainstorm stretching from the Great Lakes to the Gulf states is bringing heavy rains to parts of Wisconsin, Ohio, West Virginia and the Carolinas.
Earlier, several locations in the Midwest reported upwards of an inch of rain as the storm moved through.
But meteorologist Richard Bann at the National Forecast Desk in Camp Springs, Md., says the real threat from the system will come later today in the mid-Atlantic, where enough daytime heating will set the stage for possible severe weather from Pennsylvania through Virginia and Maryland.
And that could include strong winds, hail and even isolated tornadoes.
