Some areas of the Midwest are seeing heavy flooding, and we're getting a look now at just how dangerous it can be.

Video shows flood waters come crashing into the front of a building and then rip out the front doors, frame and all.

This is a building on the main campus of Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois.

The campus was closed Wednesday so workers can assess and clean up the damage.

You can see desks, chairs, tables swept away in the gushing water.

College president Lori Sundberg talked to local station WQAD about the damage and said, it could have been worse.

Sundberg says, “All the damage that we have is strictly material items, equipment. We have a lot of debris we have to clean out. But in terms of anyone actually hurt--no one hurt so we're extremely grateful. We're very fortunate.”

Crews say they'll be working to clean up the damage for next couple days.
