Supervisory special agent William Reiner says Ann Pettway surrendered Sunday morning to the FBI and Bridgeport, Conn., police
on a warrant from North Carolina.

Pettway was on probation because of a conviction for attempted embezzlement and wasn't allowed to leave the state.

She's in custody and can't be reached for comment.

North Carolina correction officials had tried to contact her Friday after discovering investigators wanted to question her in the 1987 abduction of infant Carlina White, who's now grown and was recently reunited with her long-lost family.

White has been living under the name Nejdra Nance in Bridgeport and in the Atlanta area.
