LAND O'LAKES, Fla. (AP) - A Pasco County deputy faces charges
after authorities say he let inmates' girlfriends visit them during
a work detail.
The sheriff's office reports that 35-year-old Brian Call was
watching inmates doing construction work on a new hangar for the
Pasco aviation unit last month when he allowed the women to visit
the site. Authorities are still investigating what went on between
the women and the inmates.
The sheriff's office reports that Call received Copenhagen
smokeless tobacco to allow the visits.
Call was arrested Tuesday and charged with introduction and
possession of contraband into a jail facility and unlawful
compensation or reward for official behavior. He was later released
on $15,000 bail.
Call has been on unpaid leave since Dec. 10.
