DeKalb Firefighters Demoted After Investigation

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say that some DeKalb County firefighters have been demoted after an investigation of drinking at their fire station.

Fire Chief Eddie O'Brien announced Tuesday that a captain was demoted two ranks.

He also said two other fire department employees were demoted one rank because they had alcohol at Fire Station 24.

The investigation began after authorities said some firefighters showed up to work drunk during the ice storm that struck metro Atlanta in January.
