Couple Arrested After Leaving Kids Alone in Motel

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A North Dakota couple was arrested in Orlando and charged with child neglect after authorities say they left their three children alone in a motel room.

Richard Watts and Katie Weaver were charged with three counts of neglect for leaving a 7-year-old and a one- and 11-month-old
unattended. Richard Watts was also charged with possession of

Authorities say that the 7-year-old child called the motel's front desk and said he was alone with his two brothers. According to the arrest report, employees then went to the room and found a dirty unit, that included cigarette butts and feces on the floor.

The parents were arrested in the parking lot. The children were turned over to the Department of Children and Families.

    The seven year old had more sense than his parents.Maybe the children can recieve proper care now. It's so sad to see that some parents choose drugs over their kids.
