A new military communications satellite blasted into space Friday evening.
The unmanned Delta IV rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
It will reach 22,000 miles above the earth's equator before settling into orbit in a few months.
The satellite is the fifth Wideband Global satcom spacecraft to be launched. The U.S. military says the satellite will greatly improve communications capabilities.
