When firefighters rolled up to the scene of a house fire in Milton, West Virginia Saturday (9/9), they were shocked to see who beat them to the scene.
Batman and Captain America, or John Buckland and Troy Marcum -- were both in costume at an event at the nearby American Legion Post. They were teaching positive lessons to children, but the lesson became real life.
The two super heroes sprang into action after seeing smoke, rushing towards the flames to see if anyone was inside.
Buckland used to be a firefighter in the military and as a civilian. His experience came in handy as he rescued a cat from a burning house. He was still in costume when he got the cat out and then resusitated it. He said the cat's eyes got big and he hissed when he saw the 'Caped Crusader."
The cat's owners were out of town at the time of the fire.
