Comic book fans across the planet Wednesday (7/23) are celebrating 75-years of the caped crusader we all know as Batman. So it's only fitting that D-C Comics is celebrating Batman Day Wednesday (7/23).

One city in Texas took part to honor and celebrate the superhero without super powers.

Batman is the vigilante whose crimefighting career began after he witnessed his own parent's murders. He started out as a comic book hero, then lept to the small screen on TV in the mid 1960's, which was followed by the big screen with movies that have starred Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney as Batman.

Fans were busy Wednesday (7/23) at Bedrock Comic Book store in Houston, Texas snapping up more comic books, t-shirts and memorabilia.

They were even giving away commemorative copies of the 1939 debut Batman comic book -- which if you owned in its original format would be worth three million dollars.

But even one actor who threw on the Batman suit today said the heat in Texas might just wear Batman down -- that's why he lives in Gotham.
