SELMA, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has pleaded guilty in Selma to killing his girlfriend four years ago.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson says Rodriguez Simpson pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge Monday in the death of Shamika Walton.
WSFA-TV reports Simpson will spend the next 20 years in prison.
Evidence shows the man admitted punching Walton in the face during a fight in 2008. She was knocked into a piece of furniture and lost consciousness.
Simpson couldn't revive Walton, and he later dumped her body in a wooded area.
Authorities say the man had a history of domestic violence.
