AAA is projecting overall slightly fewer Americans are traveling more than 50 miles away from home this memorial day weekend compared to last year.
The agency estimates 34.8 million people are taking trips for the holiday. Last year some 35.1 million traveled.
AAA is predicting air travel will decrease this year by about 8-percent from last year, but road travel will see a slight increase.
A spokesperson attributes the decrease in air travel to fee fatigue and an uncertain economy.
