In 2009, Kodak discontinued its first commercially successful color film - Kodachrome.

Famed photographer Steve McCurry has been entrusted with the last manufactured roll. He's captured the Brooklyn Bridge, New York's Grand Central Terminal and even Robert De Niro.

He also returned to southern Asia where in 1984 he took the famous "Afghan Girl" photo that graced the cover of National Geographic.

McCurry has spent six weeks shooting the roll. National Geographic is considering doing a spread of the images.
