President Obama hit the road today to sell the American public on the progress made in the auto industry since the multi-billion dollar bailout.
He toured two plants and noted how the infusion of taxpayer dollars, has led to profits for Detroit's big automakers.
"Last year many thought this industry would keep losing jobs as it had for the better part of a decade. Now, it's added 55,000 jobs since last June,” says President Obama.
But critics warn it's too early to celebrate because the industry still needs to come up with a plan for the future.
